Absolute and relative maximum strength measures show differences in their correlations with sprint and jump performances in trained youth soccer players

Speed strength performances are heavily dependent on maximum strength. However, various testing methods determined inconsistent relationships between absolute and relative sprint jump performances. The aim of the study was to calculate one tailed correlation coefficients both One-Repetition Maximum (1RM) 1RM in relation body mass (1RM/BM) parallel squats different (squat countermovement jump) (5-, 10-, 20-, 30-m) youth soccer players (n= 63, 17.9±2.1 years old). Relative showed significantly larger correlations with (r= 0.52 0.58) than 0.16 0.26, z= -1.81 -1.90, p= 0.029 0.035). r values measures -0.32 -0.42) were non-statistical difference measurements -0.19 -0.3, 0.349 1.17, 0.121 0.363). results this support findings previous literature enhanced speed by higher levels maximal players, faster more powerful athletes being able generate forces against their own weight. data suggests that expressed might be considered as a superior predictor performance general.
